The screw compactor ECOCOMPensures the compaction of screenings and sieving residues in effluents from wastewater treatment and processes.
Directly inspired from the screw compactor SERCOMP, the screw compactor ECOCOMP ensures the compaction of screenings and sieving residues in effluents from wastewater treatment and processes. It reduces the volume of waste by around 50% and increases the dryness of compacted rejects to a minimum of 30% – for an urban effluent. Directly inspired from the screw compactor SERCOMP, it is designed for small pre-treatment units, due to their slighter construction. The main differences are a unique Archimedes’ screw diameter (150 mm) and a compaction zone length of 300 mm instead of 500 mm for screw compactor SERCOMP.
The pressing is carried out by a coreless Archimedes’ screw which pushes the rejects into the filtering drum at the end of which a gate maintains a counter pressure.
The drained water is recovered and then channelled towards the waste water well.
Low cost equipment for low flow rates.
Simple and robust system operating without monitoring
Its lighter construction makes it suitable for small pre-treatment units

The screw compactor ECOCOMP consists of the following elements:
Housing made out of stainless steel sheet with an inlet opening corresponding to the working width of the sieve.
In the lower part, a polyethylene lining reduces frictions and the wear of the screw.
When the screw compactor ECOCOMP is associated with a rotary sieve SERTAM, an integral hood on the filtering drum and the trough of the screw ensures a complete operator protection
Housing with upper door, containing the draining drum.
This drum, made of a 3mm thick perforated 304L metal sheet, is 300mm in length.
In its lower part, a tube 76 mm in diameter recovers the drained water.
An outlet chute of compacted waste, in which the gate, assembled with adjustable-springs that closes the end of the filter drum, maintains the counter pressure. The back pressure is adjustable by means of a spring hinge.
An Archimedes’ screw, 150 mm in diameter, made of strong resistance carbon steel.
