TO TRANSFORM A SEPARATOR AS A FLOTATION UNIT

These sets assembled on skid, can very quickly transform any static separator with existing surface scrapers, as a dissolved air flotation unit.

PRINCIPLE

The air dissolution system, widely used, accounts among the most powerful.

It consists in injecting air, in a precise proportion, to the suction of a special pump, which recycles part of the water resulting from the flotation unit. This pump ensures the rise in pressure, the division and the dissolution of the air injected.

Pressurized water is sent in a separating tube from where the slight excess of air is purged continuously by a simple leakage on a tap.

From this tube, pressurized water is sent to the input of the effluent in the flotation unit, where, the brutal expansion generates what one calls "the white water" (milky aspect) which is the result of the appearance of myriads of micro-bubbles of diameters ranging between 20 and 50 microns.

DESIGN FEATURES

We propose several standard sets, able to treat effluents from 4 to 400 m ³ /h.

Each machine includes the following elements:

A - Pressurisation Pump:

-         Multi-cellular, GRUNFOS or equivalent - nominal capacity: 20% of the flow of the effluent to be treated under a nominal pressure rating of 8 Kg/cm ³. Body, wheels and axis are out of 316 stainless steel

-         Valve with flange on the aspiration for connection to the outlet of the treated water

-         Valve and piping connection to the tube of pressurisation below. 

B- Pressurisation Tube:

Its diameter and length are adapted to the nominal capacity of the installation.

The tube is finished by dished bottoms and consists of:

-         A nipple with pressure gauge to control the flow and the pressure of the pressurisation pump.

-         A nipple with ballcock to purge the excess of air.

-         Several nipples with ballcocks for connection to the raw water input in the flotation unit.

C- Rota-meter with ball:

-         To regulate the airflow, aspired by the pump. Except particular case, there is no further need for compressed air.

-         1 non-return valve

D - An electric box including:

-         ON/OFF switch and security motor pump

-         If necessary an adjustable temporisation for the commanding of the moto-reductor of the scraping of the floating matters.

The discharge pipe of the pump, the tube of pressurisation and the skid are out of stainless steel.
